Mission America's Ethnic Network
Mission America logoMission America is a coalition of over 400 national Christian leaders who represent 70+ denominations, over 300 parachurch ministries and some 57 ministry networks.

The Ethnic America Network brings together churches and agencies with a mission "to pray for, care for and share Christ with every person in ethnically diverse America.

In April 2001, more than 350 people attended a Mission America conference "Lighting the Way...An Ethnic Workers' Summit" at Biola University in Los Angeles. Speakers included:

  • Rev. Luis Bush, International Director, AD2000 & Beyond Movement
  • Dr. Thomas Wang, President, Great Commission Center International
  • Dr. T.V. Thomas, Director, Centre for Evangelism & World Mission
  • Dr. Charles Van Engen, Professor of Biblical Theology of Mission, Fuller Theological Seminary

Another national conference is being planned for Spring 2002. To learn more about Ethnic America, visit their home page at www.ethnic-america.net.

An earlier Ethnic America conference was held in Atlanta in November 1999. The 50 delegates gathered to learn more about the rapid growth of ethnic populations in the United States, to pray and network, share practical ministry ideas, and to explore ways to cooperate for more effective witness to Ethnic Americans.

Speakers at the conference included

  • Dr. Russell Begaye, National Multi-Ethnic Specialist Manager for the Southern Baptist Convention. Excerpts from his speech, "Challenges of the Ethnic Millennium" are online here.
  • Dr. Glenn Wagner, Senior Pastor of Calvary Church, a multi-ethnic ministry in Charlotte, N.C.
  • Dr. Daniel Sanchez, Professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
  • Dr. Corkie Haan, National Facilitator of Ministry Networks for Mission America.
